This Autumn, Tag Republic welcomed another incredible six-week Women’s Tag Rugby League in Pairc Ui Chaoimh. This season saw the introduction of an advanced women’s league, a social league and a beginners programme with our Learn to Play programme in conjunction with Cork Sports Partnership—showcasing the growing participation in dedicated womens tag rugby leagues in Cork.
Advanced Women: A State-of-Origin Style Showdown
Our advanced ladies league delivered six weeks of high-intensity, state-of-origin style rugby that pushed standards to a new level. Fast and fiercely competitive, every game showcased the huge talent emerging across Cork’s women’s tag scene.
Social Ladies: Fun, Friendships & Mixed-Match Magic
The Social Ladies league as always was filled with fun and laughter. Players rotated through mixed-and-match teams weekly, allowing players to meet new people and form new friendships.
This format has become a favourite for women who love the social side of tag.
Learn to Play: Growing the Game with Cork Sports Partnership
The season also saw the addition of our Learn to Play programme in partnership with Cork Sports Partnership. This group of beginners embraced every session with enthusiasm, improving week after week.
Participants were also treated to free Tag Republic shorts, helping them feel fully part of our tag community from day one.
Finals Night: A Festival of Women’s Tag Rugby
Our Monday Finals Night brought all groups together for a brilliant celebration of women’s sport.
Our Learn to Play participants joined the Social Ladies for a mini blitz, consisting of three grading games, followed by a Cup and Plate finals to wrap up the evening. The atmosphere was electric—teams cheering each other on, beginners mixing seamlessly with more experienced players, and as usual plenty of laughs.
To top it all off, every participant walked away with a Beo-sponsored T-shirt, adding a splash of style to an already memorable night.
A League Built on Community
From advanced showdowns to social camaraderie to first-time participants discovering the sport, this six-week league showcased everything Tag Republic stands for—community, participation, development, and fun.
